The Tunis community was marked by the coexistence of two groups: the native Twansa and the Grana, descendants of Livornese merchants from Italy. Concentrated in the Hara quarter, it produced rabbis, printers and malouf musicians. The French protectorate, then independence in 1956, hastened its emigration to France and Israel.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
