In the valleys of the High and Anti-Atlas, Jewish villages (rural mellahs) lived in symbiosis with Berber tribes, practising silversmithing, cobbling and trade. The regions of Tafilalet, Draa, Sous and Ouarzazate sheltered rabbinic dynasties and venerated saints' tombs. The exodus of the 1950s–1960s emptied these mountain communities.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
