The spiritual capital of Moroccan Judaism, Fez established the kingdom's first mellah, the official Jewish quarter, in 1438. A major centre of study where Maimonides once lived, it produced the Taqqanot of the Spanish exiles (megorashim). Its rabbinic dynasties (Serero, Ibn Danan) radiated halakhic authority across the Maghreb.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
