An oral repertoire of women's songs tied to life cycles — lullabies, wedding songs, funeral laments — transmitted in the Jewish vernaculars (Ladino, Judeo-Arabic, Judeo-Malayalam, Yiddish). Long neglected, this corpus illuminates domestic life and women's role in communal memory. It has been collected by ethnomusicology since the twentieth century.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
