The bakkashot ("supplications") are collections of sung liturgical and mystical poems performed, in several Sephardic and Eastern traditions, during the long winter Sabbath nights before dawn. Blending medieval piyyutim and later compositions, often set to musical modes (maqamat), they express the soul's yearning for God and the longing for redemption.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
