The Tsenerene (Tsene-rene), compiled by Jacob ben Isaac Ashkenazi around 1600, paraphrases in Yiddish the Torah, the haftarot and the megillot, enriched with midrash and commentary. A Sabbath reading for Ashkenazi women for centuries, it was one of the most widely distributed Yiddish books.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
