Founded in Moscow in 1917, Habima was the first major professional theatre performing in Hebrew, famous for its staging of An-sky's The Dybbuk under Vakhtangov. The company settled in Palestine and became Israel's national theatre. Its history embodies the revival of Hebrew as a stage language.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
