The tallit is the prayer shawl fitted with ritual fringes (tzitzit) at its four corners, in keeping with the biblical commandment in the Book of Numbers. The tzitzit, with their codified knots and windings, recall the whole body of commandments. The tallit katan, a fringed garment worn under the clothes, extends this mitzvah throughout the day among the observant.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
