מניין תרי"ג המצוות
Intersection register · custodian, not owner
Rabbinic tradition counts 613 commandments (taryag mitzvot) in the Torah, of which 248 are positive and 365 negative. Several medieval works list them and debate the criteria: Maimonides' Sefer ha-Mitzvot, the Sefer Mitzvot Gadol (Semag) of Moses of Coucy, and the Sefer ha-Chinuch, which also explains their reasons. These enumerations remain central to halakhic reflection.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
