הרוֹמַנְסֵרוֹ הספרדי והבלדה היהודית-ספרדית
Region: Empire ottoman, Maroc, Méditerranée
Intersection register · custodian, not owner
A corpus of sung narrative ballads inherited from medieval Spain and preserved by the Jews exiled after 1492, distinct from liturgical song. Transmitted orally in the communities of the Balkans, Turkey and Morocco, the romancero fossilized ancient Iberian themes. It forms a living archive of pre-classical Spanish.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
