Rabbi David Kimhi (c. 1160–1235), known as the Radak, was a grammarian and exegete active in Narbonne. His grammar manual and dictionary, the Mikhlol and the Sefer ha-Shorashim, were authoritative for centuries. His clear, methodical biblical commentaries combine grammar, plain sense and anti-Christian polemic, influencing the Hebraist humanists of the Renaissance.
