The Purim-shpil is a parodic skit performed at Purim, staging the Megillah of Esther and other biblical narratives in a burlesque and carnivalesque mode. A popular ancestor of Yiddish theater, it mixes satire, cross-dressing and role reversal.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
