The niggoun is a melody often without words, repeated and improvised, through which Hasidism seeks the elevation of the soul (hitlahavut) and union with God. Each court (Chabad, Breslov, Modzitz…) cultivates its repertoire; the niggoun accompanies the Sabbath, festivals and the rebbes' tables.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
