The Bezalel School, founded in Jerusalem in 1906 by Boris Schatz, sought to create a national Jewish art style combining biblical motifs, orientalism and craft. It produced ritual objects, engravings and metalwork marked by a syncretism of East and Art Nouveau. This project laid the foundations of the visual arts of the State of Israel.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
