The Catalan Atlas of 1375, attributed to the Jewish cartographer Abraham Cresques and his son Jafuda of Palma de Mallorca, is one of the masterpieces of medieval cartography. This Majorcan school of Jewish cartographers combined nautical knowledge, astronomy, and illumination. The atlas, held at the French National Library, depicts Africa, Asia, and the route to Mali.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
