The Mahzor Vitry, compiled in Rashi's school by Simhah of Vitry, is a foundational collection of the Ashkenazi rite and customs, blending prayers, laws and commentary. These great manuscript liturgical compendia, often richly illuminated, structure the Jewish year. They are a key source on medieval liturgy and customary law.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
