The Kuzari of Judah Halevi (c. 1075–1141) stages, in dialogue form, the conversion of the king of the Khazars after examining the major religions and philosophy. Halevi defends the singularity of Israel's experience, grounded in historical revelation and the "divine faculty," against Aristotelian rationalism. The work is a classic of medieval Jewish theology and thought.
