The chiddush ("novelty") denotes a fresh interpretation or understanding drawn out by the student from the Talmudic or halakhic text. Prized as an ideal of Torah study, it gave rise to a literary genre, the chiddushim, in which scholars record their original analyses of specific tractates. This genre forms an important part of post-Talmudic rabbinic literature.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
