The Counting of the Omer links Passover to Shavuot through a count of forty-nine days, partly observed as a mourning period. On the thirty-third day, Lag BaOmer, these mourning customs lift, giving way to celebrations, bonfires, and weddings. The date is also linked to the memory of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, marked notably at Mount Meron.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
