Yizkor is the memorial prayer for the dead, recited in the synagogue at four times of the year: Yom Kippur and the final days of Passover, Shavuot, and Sukkot. Worshippers recall their departed relatives and pledge charity (tzedakah) in their memory. In several Ashkenazi communities, those whose parents are living customarily leave the room during its recitation.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
