Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi (1745–1812), founder of the Chabad movement, developed in the Tanya a spiritual psychology centered on the human being's two souls and the primacy of the intellect (Chochmah-Binah-Daat) in divine service. Chabad Hasidism is distinguished by its contemplative intellectualism. The Tanya became one of the major foundational texts of Hasidic thought.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
