מזוזה
Intersection register · custodian, not owner
The mezuzah is a small parchment bearing the first two paragraphs of the Shema, affixed to the right doorpost of the Jewish home. Its placement fulfills the Deuteronomy commandment to inscribe these words 'on the doorposts of your house.' Many touch or kiss it when entering or leaving, and its text, written by a scribe, must be checked periodically.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
