The matzevah is the gravestone erected over a Jewish burial, bearing the deceased's name, dates according to the Hebrew calendar, and memorial formulas. In many communities its setting and unveiling are marked by a ceremony usually held at the end of the first thirty days or within the first year. Visitors and relatives place stones as a sign of remembrance.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
