The genre of Jewish travel narratives describing communities, routes and holy places. The itineraries of Benjamin of Tudela and Petahiah of Regensburg in the twelfth century are the models, followed by pilgrims' accounts of journeys to the Land of Israel. These texts form a precious geographic and ethnographic source on the medieval diasporas.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
