Shiva is the first stage of Jewish mourning, lasting seven days after the burial of a close relative. Mourners stay at home, sit low, cover mirrors, and receive visits from the community offering comfort and prayers. This stage is part of a graduated mourning that continues with the shloshim (thirty days) and a full year for parents.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
