The University of Padua was one of the few in Europe to grant medical degrees to Jews from the sixteenth century onward. Hundreds of Jewish students from Italy, Germany, and Poland trained there, including Joseph Delmedigo. These physicians spread modern medical science within Jewish communities and often served as court physicians.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
