The Arukh ha-Shulchan is a complete halakhic code written by Rabbi Yechiel Michel Epstein (1829–1908) in Russia. Following the order of the Shulchan Arukh, it presents each law by tracing it back to its Talmudic roots before ruling, in a flowing, continuous style. Contemporary with and complementary to the Mishnah Berurah, it also covers the civil areas the latter does not treat.
