Journal hebdomadaire ; fondé à la Nouvelle-Orléans, Louisiane, le 4 janvier 1895, par A. Steeg, qui en est toujours l'éditeur (1904). Son premier rédacteur était Alexander Harris, qui a été remplacé par Maurice Switzer, par la suite rédacteur de « The Owl » (absorbé par le « Ledger » en mars 1903). Le Rév. Dr. Max Heller a été rédacteur du « Ledger » pendant les années 1896-97, et a été remplacé par son rédacteur actuel, Dr. M. J. Lehman, ancien rédacteur du « Jewish Times ». Son orientation tend vers une Réforme modérée.
