Manuscript, ledger of the mohel of Rabbi Meir ha-Nover [district of Baden, Germany]. Contains 839 records of circumcisions, from the years 5581-5628 (1821-1868), of Jews from Richen in the district of Baden [apparently the residence place of the mohel] and the surrounding communities: Stebbach, Gemmingen, Ittlingen, Massenbach, Eppingen, and others. According to a later inscription on the cover, the mohel was Rabbi Meir son of Moses ha-Nover, born in the year 5565 (1805) and died in the year 5647 (1887). At the beginning of the ledger the mohel added an alphabetical name index. [41], 183, [1] pages. 15 cm. Good condition, stains, light wear. Some pages are loose. Wear on the binding.
