The renowned gaon Rabbi Moshe Shik — Maharma Shik (5517-5599, Ozar HaRabbanim 15194), an outstanding gaon and one of the great leaders of Hungarian Jewry. At age 14 he entered the yeshiva of the "Hatam Sofer" and quickly became one of his distinguished disciples. He served for many years as rabbi of the city of Yaargen near Pressburg, and later served until his death as rabbi of Huszt, where he founded a great yeshiva and raised famous students. He left behind an enormous literary legacy, including responsa on halakha, sermons, Hidushim on the Talmud, on the 613 commandments and more. Among the great fighters against Reform. Page 17 cm. Poor condition, severely damaged with textual lacunae, missing at the bottom of the page.
