The legend of the wandering Jew [אגדת היהודי הנודד], 12 plates with illustrations by Gustave Doré. Published by Cassel Petter & Galpin, London-Paris-New York, [1873]. Black and white illustrations, in all of them appears a stereotypical figure of a Jew. Bound with it are five additional antisemitic woodcuts in which the figure of the "Wandering Jew" appears, hand-colored. 4 of the additional prints from the series "Le Juif-Errant" [the Wandering Jew], by painter François Georgin, circa 1860, accompanied by verses in French. One additional print bears the title Das wahre porttat des ewigen Juden [the True Portrait of the Wandering Jew] and is accompanied by a verse in German. The book – 55.5 cm, the prints – 42X33 cm on average, one print 63x42 cm. Good condition, rust stains on the pages of the book.
