The book presents HaMeiri's experiences from the First World War, in which he served in the Austro-Hungarian Empire army as a junior officer. He describes in the first person the experiences of an enlightened young Jewish man, engaged in writing and involved in the intellectual bohemian circles of Budapest, enlisted in the war, and recounts his officer training, the battles in which he participated, and finally – his capture as a prisoner of war. 296 pages, 19.5 cm. Condition good. Cover somewhat damaged, loose.
