CARMI Personnage biblique ; fils de Reuben (Gen. xlvi. 9 ; Ex. vi. 14 ; Num. xxvi. 6 ; I Chron. v. 3). Dans Num. xxvi. 6, les descendants de Carmi sont appelés Carmites. Il existe aussi un Carmi, fils d'Achan (I Chron. ii. 7), mentionné en connexion avec le sacrilège d'Achan à Aï (Josh. vii.). Un troisième Carmi est énuméré parmi les descendants de Judah (I Chron. iv. 1).
