Włodawa, a town in the Lublin region on the Bug River, was home to a Jewish community attested since the 16th century, which represented the majority of its population before World War II. Between October and December 1942, the Jews of Włodawa were deported in several waves to the Sobibor extermination camp and almost entirely exterminated.
