Toul, an episcopal city of Lorraine, hosted a medieval Jewish community attested as early as the 11th century, before the expulsions from the kingdom of France. A Jewish presence is again documented in the modern era, notably in the 19th century within the framework of the consistory of Nancy.

This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.

The days of this book

This book bears no memory day yet. The sources that document Toul give years and centuries, never a day; we do not invent one.
