Taizz, a town in the highlands of southern Yemen, sheltered a Jewish community known through JDC (Joint Distribution Committee) sources and the testimonies of rabbinical emissaries from the 19th–20th centuries. Jewish craftsmen there specialized in silversmithing and embroidery.
