Stobi, an ancient Macedonian city at the confluence of the Vardar and the Crni Drim, possesses one of the best-documented synagogues in the Balkans (3rd–5th century). A preserved Greek inscription mentions Claudius Tiberius Polycharmos, who financed the construction of the synagogue and a meeting hall on his property.

The days of this book
This book bears no memory day yet. The sources that document Stobi give years and centuries, never a day; we do not invent one.
