Sniatyn (Śniatyn in Polish), a city in eastern Galicia (Ivano-Frankivsk oblast, Ukraine), was home to a Jewish community attested since the 16th century, active in trade and crafts. Under German and Romanian occupation from 1941, the community was almost entirely exterminated during the Aktionen of 1941–1942.
