Intersection register · custodian, not owner
Shumen (Choumen) is a city in northeastern Bulgaria. An ancient Sephardic Jewish community and a nineteenth-century synagogue are attested there, forming part of the Jewish fabric of Ottoman Bulgaria. As Bulgaria protected its Jews during the Second World War, the community of Shumen was able to survive before emigrating predominantly to Israel.
