Petite ville près de Nehardea, en Perse, peut-être identique à Al-Zib sur le Tigre, et possiblement avec ![](https://storage.googleapis.com/jewishencyclopedia/chars/V11p257002.jpg) ('Er. 64a, MS. reading). Selon M. Ḳ. 28b, ses femmes étaient réputées pour les beaux chants de deuil qu'elles chantaient lors des funérailles. Rabbi Judah ha-Nasi refusa de permettre à ses enfants d'y vivre parce que c'était une ville de moqueurs (Pes. 112b) ; mais Rab Naḥman y prit une femme de Shekanẓib (Yeb. 37b). Sherira Gaon déclare dans sa lettre (in Neubauer, "M. J. C." i. 29) que Rabba bar Abuha s'enfuit dans cette ville quand Papa ben Naẓar conquit Nehardea.
