Shefar'am (Shfa-Amr), a mixed town in Galilee, had a small Jewish community of the old yishuv in the 17th–18th centuries, attested by Ottoman sources. It was also at Shefar'am that the Sanhedrin convened after its move from Tiberias in the 3rd century, according to Talmudic sources.
