Shahrisabz, a historic town in Uzbekistan (Kashkadarya Province), was home in the nineteenth century to a small group of Bukharan Jews engaged in the silk trade and other local commerce. The community was numerically modest and gravitated within the orbit of the great communities of Bukhara and Samarkand.
