Saint-Louis du Sénégal, former capital of French West Africa, had in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries a small number of Jewish merchants, often linked to the Bordeaux commercial networks involved in the trade of gum arabic and other commodities. This presence was marginal and ephemeral, without resulting in the formation of an organized community.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
