Region: France (Alsace/Bas-Rhin)
Intersection register · custodian, not owner
An ancient imperial city of Alsace, Rosheim harbored a medieval Jewish community documented since the 14th century and a continuous presence until the Revolution. A medieval mikveh and lapidary inscriptions survive there, and Josel de Rosheim (1478–1554), defender of the Jews of Alsace, is its most celebrated figure.
