Polonne (now in Khmelnytsky Oblast, Ukraine), a city in Podolia, was home to a significant Jewish community since the 18th century, rooted in local commercial and artisan life. During the Shoah, the community was annihilated in mass shootings carried out by the Einsatzgruppen and their auxiliaries in 1941–1942.
