Region: Loiret, France
Intersection register · custodian, not owner
Opened in 1941 in Loiret, the Pithiviers camp — like that of Beaune-la-Rolande — was initially a place of internment for foreign Jews arrested in the Paris region. After the Vel' d'Hiv roundup of July 1942, it received entire families, before children were separated from their mothers and deported. Several convoys to Auschwitz departed directly from Pithiviers during the summer of 1942. The camp is today associated with the Memory of Jewish children deported from France; its former station has been transformed into a memorial.

The days of this book
This book bears no memory day yet. The sources that document Pithiviers (camp d'internement du Loiret) give years and centuries, never a day; we do not invent one.
You know a date — a remembrance, a hilloula, the anniversary of a departure? Give it its day
