Region: Algérie (Sud, wilaya d'Ouargla)
Intersection register · custodian, not owner
Ouargla is an ancient Saharan oasis (Algeria) where a Jewish presence has been attested since the Middle Ages, linked to the trans-Saharan trade routes connecting the Maghreb to sub-Saharan Africa. The local Jewish community gradually disappeared following French colonization and the exodus northward.

The days of this book
This book bears no memory day yet. The sources that document Ouargla give years and centuries, never a day; we do not invent one.
