Odorheiu Secuiesc (Székelyudvarhely in Hungarian), a town in the Székely Land of eastern Transylvania, welcomed a Jewish community that settled in the 19th century, integrated into the local commercial and cultural life of Hungarian expression. The community was deported to Auschwitz in 1944.
