Mohyliv-Podilskyi (Mohilev-Podolsk), a border city on the Dniester, was an important commercial crossroads for the Jews of Podolia and Bessarabia. Its position on the Russo-Austrian border made it a favored crossing point for merchants and migrants. During the Shoah, the city also became a place of transit and suffering for Jewish deportees from Romania to Transnistria.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
