Mala, a village in the Thrissur district of Kerala, is one of the historic centers of the Malabar Jewish community (Jews of Cochin). A synagogue was built there, now restored and listed as heritage. The community, greatly reduced in number, has emigrated in large part to Israel.

Great Book being written

This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.

The days of this book

This book bears no memory day yet. The sources that document Mala give years and centuries, never a day; we do not invent one.

You know a date — a remembrance, a hilloula, the anniversary of a departure? Give it its day
